One of the most active parts of our Senior Adult Ministry is the JOY Singers. Under the direction of Ed Cleveland and accompanied by Melanie Pace, the JOY Singers use their musical abilities to the glory of God. Any senior adult is encouraged to join the choir, even if you can only “make a joyful noise.”

Rehearsals are held September-June on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 10:00-11:15 a.m. The choir meets in the Scott Street rehearsal studio adjacent to the receptionist desk. To add to the fellowship, rehearsals are followed by lunch at various local restaurants (dutch-treat).

During the year the choir sings at nursing homes, churches, and for other special occasions. The highlights of the year are the annual Patriotic Celebration, Christmas Celebration, and Senior Adult Sunday.

An added bonus in our Senior Adult Ministry is our JOY Ringers. These senior adult handbell ringers are under the direction of Mrs. Sara Jo Bagley. The JOY Ringers assist the JOY Singers on special occasions and also play from time to time for special events.

Rehearsals are held from September through June at 4:00 p.m. each Wednesday afternoon in room 500 Main. Individuals interested in playing handbells with our JOY Ringers are asked to call Kenny Hoomes at 241-5182.
