Kenny Hoomes has served at First Baptist since August 2003. Originally from Brewton, Alabama, Kenny holds the Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mobile College and the Master of Religious Education from New Orleans Seminary. He and his wife, Donna, have two sons, Jonathan and Joshua. For more than
thirty years, Kenny has served churches across Alabama and has played an active role in the work of the local association and the state convention. He has served as president of the Shelby Baptist Ministers Conference and as president of the Birmingham Religious Education Association.

He has served as a special worker with the Alabama Baptist Sunday School Department since 1982. Kenny’s writings have appeared in numerous Lifeway Christian Resources since 1986. His writings have also appeared in Dimension: WMU Leadership Magazine and the Alabama Baptist state paper.
SENIOR ADULT COUNCIL
Each Senior Adult Bible Fellowship Class (age 60 plus) has a representative on the Senior Adult Council that meets monthly. Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) states the goal of “assisting every person to grow mentally, emotionally, socially, physically, and spiritually.” The Senior Adult Council is responsible for planning and executing various activities to meet this goal.

Our senior adults play an active role in our In-Home Ministry here at First Baptist Church. Directed by Cecile Hamblin, these volunteers seek to minister to our homebound adults in a variety of ways.
