CONNIE HULSEY
In-Home Ministry Director

Dear Sisters and Brothers in-Christ, It has been my honor to serve as Director of our In-Home Ministry for the past two years. As a Christ-Follower, I desire to please the Lord in all I do with Psalm 19:14 as my life verse: “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

In previous seasons of my life, I have served with Children’s and Youth Ministries, taught Sunday School and Bible Studies, and served as leader of a Women’s Ministry. Over the past 10 years, caregiving became my “profession and passion,” as cancer touched the lives of the four most important people in my life - - Husband, Daughter, Mom and Dad. Praise God my husband and daughter are cancer-free! I had the honor to serve as my parents’ caregiver through my Mom’s 13-year battle with Breast Cancer and my Dad’s five-year battle with Lung Cancer, as well as caring for my Aunt who suffered with Alzheimer’s. Romans 8:28 “…in all things God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose” confirms God was preparing me to serve in this Ministry here at First Baptist.

My husband, Ben, served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force with our last assignment here at Maxwell Air Force Base. When he retired in 2011, we were praying about our plans after retirement, particularly where to live. As members of the First Baptist Church Family, our decision was easy, and we are thankful the Lord brought us here to serve. Ben is active in our Missions Ministry, Director of Operation Christmas Child and just completed a three-year term as a Deacon. Currently, he serves as Minister of Operations with FBC Community Ministries. Our daughter, Julie, lives with her husband, Scott, in New Albany, OH, and we have two grandchildren, Shane and Nate.

For those of you who have a passion for the Homebound, Elderly or Those In Need, and your Spiritual Gifts are Serving, Encouraging and Showing Mercy, please prayerfully considered serving with this wonderful ministry.
